The Honeybee Mapper app is the first of its kind. This app collects, maps and displays Honeybee hive locations across the United States and around the world. By raising awareness of where honeybees are located, SaveTheHives hopes to aid in research efforts and encourage concerned citizens, students, beekeepers and farmers to be more bee friendly in their daily activities. Vieing the Map displays pointers with a 3 mile radius ring indicating honeybee flight range, as well as user supplied hive information. Various searching methods are supplied to view color coded hive locations of both wild and domesticated honeybees. Honeybee quizzes and educational materials are provided to encourage bee stewardship and to promote increased awareness of honeybees.
